Stroke patient using the Biomove stroke rehabilitation system

Stroke recovery, stroke rehabilitation and stroke treatment for muscle paralysis following a stroke is now possible with the advanced Biomove device. There are two different systems, both developed for home therapy as well as clinical therapy.

After a stroke, control signals from the brain often cannot reach some muscles, typically in the hand or foot. Without these signals, the level of electrical activity in these muscles is too low for them to contract adequately on their own, causing them to become increasingly weaker.

The Biomove systems are state-of-the art and very easy-to-use devices for rehabilitation of paralyzed arm or leg muscles after Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury or Cerebral Palsy.

The technology has undergone many scientific clinical trials worldwide. Thousands of stroke survivors have been treated successfully. Of the treated stroke survivors, a very high success rate is reported, resulting in a dramatic improvement in their quality of lives.

The Biomove system, via three electrode patches placed on the arm or leg, detects and amplifies even the slightest electrical muscle activity (EMG) signals still being generated in the arm and leg muscles. Then, using a very advanced form of biofeedback combined with electrical muscle stimulation, the Biomove re-teaches muscles to contract on their own. The more often muscles contract, the stronger they get.

This form of stroke recovery and stroke rehabilitation treatment is used to re-learn which part of the brain to activate; thus to re-develop spontaneous and voluntary muscle control.

Sitting or reclining in a relaxed comfortable position, apply the Biomove electrode patches to your arm or leg. Now try to lift your hand or raise your foot. The Biomove system will detect even the slightest movement and send additional stimulation to increase this movement. By repeating this exercise as many times as possible, you can regain more and more control of your muscles.

While you may start training with the Biomove system at any point during your stroke rehabilitation, the earlier you begin, the more effectively your muscle activity will be restored.
