Dr Stephens graduated from Grinnell College with a BA degree in Biology, completed an MS in Biomedical Engineering at Drexel University and then a PhD in Neuroscience at Temple University. He then went on for clinical training in Physical Therapy at Hahnemann University and completed Feldenkrais training in Toronto in 1987. He has worked as an inpatient and outpatient therapist with patients with a variety of neurological diagnoses for more than 20 years at Temple University Hospital, Moss Rehabilitation Hospital, the Jimmie Heuga Center and in his private practice specializing in treatment of people with stroke, multiple sclerosis and chronic pain. Dr. Stephens began teaching physical therapists at Widener University in 1994 and now serves on the faculty in the Temple University Physical Therapy Department where he teaches DPT and PhD students in the areas of the movement sciences and neurological rehabilitation. He has published on the outcomes of using Feldenkrais Method on balance and mobility of the elderly and patients with multiple sclerosis.
